Let Myth and More help you thread your way into and out of the labyrinth we often find ourselves in as we reflect on our story. You will be introduced to archetypal patterns, the structure of the Hero’s Journey, character archetypes, mythic motifs and the complexity of the human drama found in myth and all enduring stories. Somatic Mythography: Movement, Myth, & “Story” is designed to help you identify your story, feel it, honor it, and revision it. Through access to those unchanging constants of the human condition and perceiving the forces underlying human activity captured by myths, you may improve the quality, integrity, and authority of your story.
Lecture: an introduction to mythic motifs, character archetypes, and the Hero’s Journey will be explored through traditional lecture format.
Storytelling: myths and fairy tales from several traditions are integrated into the presentation along with with video clips from classic and current films to give specific examples of elements under discussion.
Exercises: several different types of group exercises assist to express the “story” held in the body, including (but not limited to) toning, yoga, private spa services, and creative expression.
Ceremony and Ritual: we enter a sacred space honoring our unique journey and transforming our “story” through the structure of initiation.
Integration: free time is offered in order to integrate the deep experience that is the core and nature of this workshop in a safe container.

|Margo Meck, Ph.D. received her doctoral degree in Mythological Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute, Santa Barbara, CA. She is a mythologist, writer, story consultant, and speaker. She has also lectured on Personal Mythology, Proof of Identity in Myth and Fairytale, and Psyche and Nature.||

|Dr. Mark Lumpkin, LMT, CPT, RYT has been involved with professional sports for 23 and brings a wealth of knowledge to his profession. He received his doctoral degree in Mythological Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute, Santa Barbara, CA. and also has two Master’s degrees in psychology and numerous certifications in massage therapy and fitness. He has developed an innovative and integrated work that incorporates yoga/movement therapy, performance psychology, NLP coaching, corrective exercise, breath work, cardiovascular training, hands on training and spa/table work. He also has extensive teaching experience with groups and one-on-one.||
